Description
As Revell issued their Chaparral 2 kit in the USA, there was a slightly different version assembled in Europe for the British and German markets. The box had identical graphics but was shorter, using the same tray as the older “Series 2” boxes of the original kits. The main difference was the frame, stamped from aluminum instead of brass. There is no clear explanation for this, the most reasonable speculation being that it was lighter, so less expensive to ship, from the manufacturer in Japan or the USA to the United Kingdom. The mystery will remain forever as the few that knew are no longer with us.
