Description
The last series of the Revell kits of this popular model are scarce. It included the latest 3-piece inline brass frame with the Mabuchi FT16D used as integral part of the chassis. The tires were smaller but wider, and the kit used the large guide also found on all the later 1/24 scale kits and RTR with the vacuum formed bodies.
Few have survived since limited production in 1967, when sales of injected-body slot car kits were dismal. Box art is unique to these kits as well as chassis components, “Fireball” motor and body molding details. The newer Mabuchi FT16D motor with brush heat sinks and pinion on the can side provides much greater performance. Inner box retained the white polystyrene foam tray, with the parts displayed on printed inserts.
