To liquidate old stocks in the early 1970s, Champion scrapped the bins to assemble cars using modern bodies over obsolete chassis and motors. The Colt and Super Colt used the Champion “Snuggler” die-cast aluminum chassis with recycled Monogram motors from their racing sets cars, a Mabuchi with red endbell with an added Champion sticker and a Kirby-Associated Nissan Group-7 body.
