Description

The 1/24 scale Marauder RTR was designed by famous stylist Tom Daniel and issued in 1967. The company had by that time, switched to the Igarashi motor and Testor had their own brown colored endbell on their version of the large “Hemi” motor.
The chassis was a stamped aluminum affair with flanged ball bearings and the famous Testor 6-hole wheels. The body was vacuum formed and painted in shades of metallic red or blue with corresponding light fogging in contrasting color. The body was also sold separately by Pactra, and also in a painted version by Testor in a clear plastic extrusion with white injected-plastic ends, a packing also used by K&B and Cox.
The relationship between Testor and Pactra is still unknown at this time, but there are many more examples of the sharing of product.
The Marauder is not rare, but the original box is quite scarce.
