Description
The third Classic model issued was a successful seller. The Asp was a lime green ready to race car featuring molded silicone tires over magnesium wheels, a gray anodized sandwich chassis with ISO drop arm configuration, and a Classic CM160 motor, an orange Mabuchi FT16D with brush heat sinks. The model’s rear axle ran on teflon shielded ball bearings. the front wheels were magnesium with tiny ribbed tires, with the Classic mark molded on their sides. The body was very slick and its color quite attractive. The box also contained chassis parts and a body to build a 1/32 scale Maserati 250F, an odd choice. Extra rubber tires and aluminum wheels were also provided. After a year and a half of success, the Asp was replaced by the “Competition Asp” with a more powerful motor and other new features.
