Description
This is an extremely rare kit, likely the last produced by Monogram in early 1968. It uses the same box as the standard kit with the blue injected body but has instead a red, factory painted vacuum formed shell. A vacuum formed interior molded of gray plastic is enclosed. Everything else is identical to the standard kit except the rear tires that are black neoprene sponge, glued and trued over the standard wheels. Of the very few boxed examples that have surfaced, some have an extra sticker on the box top, describing the extra set of AJ’s silicone tires enclosed in the kit.
As seen on this assembly sheet, the standard “SR” stock number is preceded by a “V” for “Vacuum Formed”.
