Description
This beautiful car was built by Roy Moody and features a partially hand built motor of which the magnet material is flush with the bottom of the chassis. If Roy had tried this car on a plastic track, he likely would have discovered the benefits of magnet traction. But Roy, like virtually all Midwest club racers, raced on wooden tracks with non-magnetic copper braid, so he probably never knew…
Regardless, admire the craftsmanship involved in this little beauty. We hope to complete it soon with parts from the spares acquired from the Moody estate, and possibly match it to a surviving body from the collection.
This car was restored by Robert Hackl, a friend of the LASCM.
