Description

The most commonly found of these desirable and very influential slot cars is the Chaparral 2E IFC in its ready to race version. Using a virtually indestructible polypropylene body and wing, the model was set over a so-called iso-Fulcrum chassis (IFC) that was first introduced on the “La Cucaracha” RTR model a year earlier. The gray sponge tires were barely filling the wheel wells… The Cox NASCAR 3600 motor was able to pivot on its axis and actuated the rear wing through a small steel wire form. The “cockpit” was restricted to a piece of black paper on which the basic Cox driver was simply affixed with double-side adhesive tape. The box was rather attractive, the unfinished model being protected by a tall corrugated inner sleeve on which the trim parts were stapled along with assembly instructions.
