Description
In the last days of commercial slot car racing, a panic of sorts hit the market, sometimes resulting in distributors hastily assembling models simply to get rid of unwanted and obsolete bits. The recipe was to call on a talented painter to produce the most outlandish color scheme for the vehicle’s body so as to attract the younger buyer and separate him from his money while providing a vehicle of often doubtful performance.
In the case of this rare Cannon Hornet, the quality of the components was first class: Lancer body hand painted by “Bob” Kovacs, Hemi motor, Riggen tires and Kal-Kar chassis, obsolete parts all, yes, but nonetheless attractive bits.
