Of all the European slot car companies in the 1960’s, the Italian Unicar company comes the closest to have found direct inspiration from American products, down to the graphics used on top of their packaging.
Founded in 1947 by Aldo Favaro in the form of a small toy manufacturing factory in Padova, by the end of the 1950’s this AGFA company produced model trains and other toys. In 1967 AGFA took the plunge into the exploding hobby and began producing slot cars, sold in kit form for 6500 Lira, or in ready to race form for 7500 Lira. Their most famous kit is that of the Ferrari 330P3/P4.
