Vernon Beck and “Sonny” Zimmerman seized upon the new hobby in 1964. After marketing RTR cars under the American Line name, they simply renamed the company “BZ” and hired John Power to design their new car, the “Banshee”. This was quite successful and BZ expanded with more RTR cars packed first into card boxes, later in clear plastic containers. BZ ceased all slot racing activities in early 1968. Their most famous car is the Batmobile, of which the body was created by master modeler Lloyd Asbury.
