Description

Developed for F2 racing with a center seat, this former 2-seater sports racer had a 1.5-liter flat-4 engine using 4 camshafts driven by angled gears. It was quite successful in the hands of Jean Behra and Hans Hermann. Gene’s model uses a fiberglass body and the chassis is the usual Wallingford-Dobson bronze casting. The Pittman motor is typical for this era of Gene’s models. The body is missing one of its two directional fins, an invention by driver Jean Behra who died in a similar car at the Avus track in Germany when he lost control at top speed.
