Two Amazing Museums

Sponsored by Electric Dreams

The Los Angeles Slot Car Museum is really two museums in one: First, the exclusive, appointment-only museum located in Los Angeles; and Second, the expansive and dynamic online museum that is lascm.com. Established in 2008 as the culmination of a life-long passion for the slot car scene, the museum is founder Scott Bader’s labor of love. When you visit the Museum, either online or in-person, you’ll feel that rush you had as a kid the first time you saw a commercial slot racing track.

The LASCM’s museum building, which displays thousands of cars and accessories, along with a huge collection of literature and other slot car ephemera, was completed in 2014. It is a private museum, and is open by lottery and appointment. A visit is well worth it, and you can find out more about how to see the collection in person on the Visit page on this site.

In order to make as much of the collection accessible to as many people as possible, the Museum has also established this online version. Here, you can find many of the collectible treasures of the Golden Age of slot car racing in America – the 1960s and early 1970s. Now, you can browse hundreds of carefully preserved kits, RTR cars, and rare items. You’ll discover and inspect the finest of the finest products created by many toy companies. All the kits and RTR cars, as well as hand-built models are subject to a full identification and condition inspection by the experts at the LASCM, so the online museum also serves as a fantastic resource for collectors.
