Nichimo, well known for its plastic model kits, entered the field of slot cars in 1964 with chassis virtual copies of the Revell models issued in 1963 and using the same Mabuchi FT16 motors. The bodies were more original, with a Ferrari 156 and a Porsche F1 models sold in kits or in racing sets. In 1965, the company production was quite prolific, as it issued no less than 9 kits in both the 1/24 and 1/32 scale. Some were re-issued and upgraded in 1966 but the market was turning sour and Nichimo quickly reverted quickly to their core business.
