1966 Mustang fastback factory prototype

This important prototype sports what may well be the only surviving example of the few hand cut and hand formed brass chassis by the AMT model shop, that led to the production of hundreds of thousands of the well-known chassis to fit many different models of road and racing automobiles. This design was originally attributed to Dick Dobson, but a recent conversation with Dick made clear that it is not his baby.
The Mustang body is painted in a pale metallic green but was never produced in that color, at least for the slot car model.
