1965 Lola T70 "Black Widow" RTR

The model used the twin-motor chassis fitted with a pair of Russkit "22" mills. The chassis, also used for the Lotus type 38, uses an added wider body mount. The car, as all Black Widow series models, was sold in an extremely fragile cardboard box with acetate windows allowing to see the car from top and bottom. A chemical reaction between the butyrate body and the tires causes the discoloration seen here over time. The real car, sponsored by Russkit, was driven at the Los Angeles Times Grand Prix at Riverside by the late Peter Revson, a heir to the Revlon cosmetics family.
