Chaparral 2D RTR

This was K&B's first model using the new Mabuchi FT26 motor. K&B's version was called "Jaguar" and had its endbell molded in a pale yellow color, retaining the nickel plated can and stock blue-wire armature. The motor was set inside a plastic pouch as in the two previous models using this chassis, the Mako Shark and the Batmobile. Why did K&B paint the body of this very nice model in metallic red is a mystery, but it is a very attractive car. It also had a new guide inspired by the Cox "quick-change" design, and was decorated with self-adhesive paper decals with the correct number graphic for the 1966 Nurburgring-winning Chaparral.
